Your phone rings or beeps with a new text message, you check it with a tiny bit of excitement and though you would never admit it out loud you never fail to have a little hope inside that it is from a certain person. But it turns out it isnt, so you can’t help but throw your phone on your bed and walk away.

When I hear stories from my friends of how they met their boyfriend or girlfriend it always seems like the ‘courting stage’ was the best part.

Not being sure whether the other likes them or not. The chase. The cute little  meet ups. Still trying to figure out who they are and what they like.  The awkward meet ups, with the awkward hug and the excitement that rushes through. The over analysing of words and body language. Feeling the constant need from your friends to reassure you that ‘yeah he likes you’. Dreading and holding your breath the second you send that text message thinking that he might not reply. And when he does its then what do you say next. Trying to figure out whether or not your being too much or not but not so much that it seems like you don’t like them. Trying to find that perfect in between of it all. And then trying not to think of all this at the same time, and to keep it cool and go with the flow or atleast trying to appear to be.

Thats the best part? Really? Its exhausting.

Mcqueen RIP

Why does it seem that the people with the imaginative and creative people that bleed talent seem to live such short lives that seem to early before their time? I am so shocked to hear the news of Alexander Mcqueens suicide. Sort of confused really. He was 40, but long live his works impact and influence to the fashion world. His work always continued to impress me and were always beautiful and now when i watch the Bad Romance music clip, or his work in my inspiration folder I will always remember the crazy amount of creativity and imagination this one designer had to possess to come up with such amazing work and appreciate his lifes work that is no doubt pretty much art.

RIP Alexander Mcqueen.

The Exception to the Rule.

Girls are taught a lot of stuff growing up. If a guy punches you he likes you. Never try to trim your own bangs and someday you will meet a wonderful guy and get your very own happy ending. Every movie we see, Every story we’re told implores us to wait for it, the third act twist, the unexpected declaration of love, the exception to the rule. But sometimes we’re so focused on finding our happy ending we don’t learn how to read the signs. How to tell from the ones who want us and the ones who don’t, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave. And maybe a happy ending doesn’t include a guy, maybe… it’s you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is… just… moving on. Or maybe the happy ending is this, knowing after all the unreturned phone calls, broken-hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarrassment you never gave up hope.

It’s exhausting.

I had this guy leave me a voicemail at work, so I called him at home, and then he emailed me to my BlackBerry, and so I texted to his cell, and now you just have to go around checking all these different portals just to get rejected by seven different technologies. It’s exhausting.

Festival of Colours

Dear Self,

Before you die, you have a list that you must complete, such things like living in london, working in paris and having a nice holidays under the tuscany sun in Italy. But you also must go and experience Holi – Festival of Colours celebrated in Spring in India, where you sort of just throw coloured powder and water at each other. So awesome and it will be an experience that will definitely produce great photographs.

I like these new pants that Sass and Bide just released in General Pants Co. If ratties and black skinny jeans made love and had a baby it would be this :

Yesterday me and Jeanice dragged Joey (poor joey) to Myer where we spent a lot of time looking at designer clothes and shoes we couldn’t afford but trying them on anyway. I fell in love with this jacket by Camilla and Marc O_O

Too bad the price tag of these clothes made me cry inside.
